Retail Therapy?
Ok, I'll admit, I'm a little strange...I'm not a big shopper. If you put in the right kind of store (a bookstore, a kitchen store, a purse store) and I've got money to spend, I could shop all day. But when it comes to "window shopping," I'm not a big fan. If I shop, it's because I need to get something.
But I do have one weird thing I like to window shop for...I love looking at office supplies. Once when I was having a bad day, I went to Office Depot and bought myself a new day planner to cheer myself up. Looking at Post-It notes and pens always boosts my mood. Lately I've been browsing day planners and other organizers, since I'm always looking for what's new out there.
I thought for a long time that I was one of the only people who is obsessed with office supplies, but I've discovered that my assistant manager at work loves them, too. We've had some good laughs over our odd obsession. I'm sure why I like them so much...maybe I feel like if I look at organizing stuff long enough, it will somehow rub off on me and I'll actually be able to get organized!

Nope, you're not alone. I know a TON of people who love to buy office supplies. I'm not sure if it's how they smell, or the potential hidden in a fresh notebook, or the nostalgia of school supplies from our youth, but it's a rather common obsession.
I'm wondering if it's a precursor to hoarding?
I know exactly what you mean. I have an iPhone and still feel like picking up one of those clean, fresh planners every now and then!
This cracks me up because I love school supplies! I am a teacher and I love walking through the aisles and picking out new pens and notebooks and organizer things! Many people I know mock my obsession but I can live with that...I just love school supplies too!
