Working Mom Wednesday - Stress

Welcome to Working Mom Wednesday!  You can choose to write about one of our prompts, or you can blog about anything related to be a working mom, and link up below.

I've been majorly stressed the past couple of weeks, so that inspired one of this week's questions...

#1. what's your favorite way to de-stress after a busy day?

#2. Top 5 things you say to your kids (or spouse or boss or co-worker) on a daily basis.

I am really stressed right now…majorly stressed…'I'm going to be bald or locked in a padded room by the end of summer' kind of stressed. I started my summer class (anatomy and physiology part 2) last Monday and I had my first test Thursday, plus we've had one quiz, another quiz today, and I have another test Monday. It's going to be a crazy five weeks. So let's just say I need to unwind a little.

I have a few things I love to do that really help me unwind. I love to read mysteries. Don't ask me how an intense story of the police or FBI trying to track down a serial killer helps me unwind…it just does. I'm weird. I love getting lost in a good book, getting so wrapped up in the story that I lose track of time…add in a good cup of coffee and I'm set for the day.

However, in the midst of summer classes, I don't have time to read anything but my textbooks…so instead I resort to locking myself in the bathroom. I turn on some music, run a bathtub full of hot water, and soak away the stress. It never fails to make me feel better.

Then there are always my never-fail destressors - a good workout, and good food. There are very few things in life that coffee and chocolate can't make better…they won't make it go away, but they'll make it better! After which I need to destress with a good workout.

Great ways to destress - I love treating myself to chocolate in the evenings! ;)

Add a little bit of wine to that list and it sounds like a perfect destressing session to me :-)

Oooh - I'm with you on coffee and baths. Only my bathtub is too small - I got spoiled growing up - my parents had one of those jacuzzi tubs. Now that we pay for stuff ourselves, I'm back to standard size and it just isn't the same. It's on our list of things to upgrade at somestage in the fuzzy future.

Stopping by belatedly from WMW!

So good to find you (through Julia's blog)! I love your heart and love the blog. My husband is going back to school, so I feel your pain. It's been a CRAZY summer. God bless my new friend. -Susan
