Okay, I know that sounds crazy, but it's true...when I started reading A Holy Experience, it really challenged me. One of the areas it challenged me in is gratitude. I decided to start keeping a gratitude journal - my own book of 1,000 gifts. I just started it last month, and I'm already amazed at how much that little book is changing me.
When you take time to look for things to be grateful for, you realize just how how much you have. I'm so amazingly, abundantly blessed. There are so many little things that I take for granted every day. Writing it all down makes me stop and think about things I might otherwise overlook. So, I'm thankful for learning to slow down, enjoy the little things, and be thankful.

Amen! We are surrounded by blessings, we just need to take the time to see them.
I should be receiving a review copy of that book any day now, I can't wait to read it.
Happy TT!

Your post reminds me of the old hymn "count your blessings name them one by one..." What a great habit to start journaling your blessings! I'm visiting from Thankful Thursday and am so glad to have "met" you.
You're right, we have so many blessings! I don't want to take all the little things for granted.
God bles syou.
WE have a "praise" journal too-- where you list answers to prayer and God's graciousness to our family. It's so wonderful to keep track and to practice gratitude.
I know the feeling of seeing those little things for the first time! Amazing!!! Happy TT!
Great post - and thanks for the motivation to start my own "1000 Gifts' journal. I read Ann's stuff all the time and agree - yet I've not actually taken the time to do it myself.
There is something about writing down your blessings, the things you are thankful for...from your hand to your mind...it stays imprinted for a much longer time. And when you read back through them..it lifts you up again!
Praise God!
