1. Having a career makes me a better/ worse mom.
2. Your work/ home/ room/ drive to work/ morning routine in pictures.
I was really wanting to do the second question, especially since we just finished remodeling our house (compliments of Hurricane Ike in 2008), but I need to snap more pictures and get them upload, and right now the house is a wreck! We had a water leak in our hallway, which meant we had to pull up the hardwood in the hallway and replace it...you get the idea. Maybe in a few weeks....
This past Sunday, my husband paid me the greatest compliment I could have asked for...we were having dinner at the church - a fundraiser I'd put together for our children's ministry, which I direct. We were talking to a couple whose grandson is in Kids BLAST, and we were talking about how much I have going right now. My husband said, "I don't know how she does it. I can go and go for a couple of days, then I'm exhausted. She goes all the time. She never stops."
It may not sound like much...but he noticed. I know he does, but just to hear him say that he knows how hard I work and how hard it is for me to juggle everything, made my day. I needed that. I know he loves me, I know he appreciates what I do, and I know he brags on me to other people, but for him to say that in front of me really made me feel good. It's nice to appreciated.
And while I'm here...I'm putting in a shameless plug for my giveaway! lol You can find it here - Pillsbury chocolate giveaway! It ends Sunday. Good luck!

That is so awesome! It's amazing how some simple words can renew our spirit! I'm proud of your husband for voicing it and noticing.
I love this prompt. I really do think that being a working mom makes me feel like superwoman. And there's just no better example than that for my kids.
Thanks for visiting my blog Amanda. You have a very inspiring blog (and a wonderful husband). I was just telling my husband the other day that I wish he would tell me thank-you more often for all I do. But, when he tried to voice his thanks I stopped him and told he had to do it on his own free will. haha!
Take care!
Amanda: Kudos to your hubby! and I'm pleasantly surprised to find other working moms who feel it makes us better to work.
I LOVE your comment, Jennie! There really is no better example...my son is too young to see it now, so I will have to save that up for his future 12 year old self.
Simple words of appreciation certainly do wonders for self esteem. Husbands and bosses should take note! ;)
I feel your pain with the leak. We just discovered a leak in our kitchen yesterday. Our boiler had stopped working, meaning we had no heating or hot water. (I discovered the problem, while showering yesterday morning!!) We have put a portable heater in our kitchen to help dry out the floor!..

PS Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier and leaving a lovely comment! :)
That is SO GREAT your husband would say that out loud. I'm not sure every guy out there stops to think what goes into making a household work.
Stopping by from WMW.

That is great your husband said that!! It is so nice to be validated by our loved ones!!!
that IS awesome that he noticed!!! see, you are supermom!! ;)
Great post. It's amazing how little comments from the hubby like this can lift you up. And they usually have no idea how much it means to us.
Coming here a tad bit late for WMW
That is a great compliment! Hope your house gets back to normal soon! Pulling up floors is never fun.
